A Crucifying Feeling is an up-and-coming rock band that is gaining attention fast. While it's members hail from the Philadelphia area, ACFs roots are planted in a much different place.
Paris Kalamaras, frontman and lead singer of ACF was 14 years old and living in Athens, Greece when he discovered his hidden gift: music. In the spring of 1997, Paris and his friends were inspired to all learn to play an instrument by the movie Shout. One took guitar, another took bass, so Paris decided to learn the drums. Eventually, his friends failed to continue their lessons. Paris, on the other hand, did not.
He then fell into writing lyrics. It started when Pairs and his friend would come up with short, funny poems however, he started to wonder how the lyrics would come out if he were to write something heartfelt. At the time, he was influenced by a lot of Greek culture and poems from ancient and modern writers. Using a keyboard, he began to pen his feelings and venture into his own modern style of music.
In 2002, Paris moved back to the US and his hometown of Philadelphia. He left behind his family, friends, and the girl he loved to start a music career. With high school behind him, he picked up his guitar and in 2004, he decided that his future in music would be under a different moniker and A Crucifying Feeling was born.
A Crucifying Feeling showcases Paris' knack for sensitive lyrics and his original blend of Grunge and Melodic Rock. His music is a product of his multitude of influences, which include: Nirvana, Metallica, The Offspring, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Cranberries, and the Greek rock band Diafana Krina ("Transparent Lilies").
In 2007, the band released their first EP called '' New Age Grunge ''. One song from that release called ''Unhappy'' will be on the band's first record due in 2009/2010.
